The Texas FAIR Plan Association (TFPA), in an effort to ensure that policies have adequate coverage, will be reviewing our TFPA homeowner policies that have been written over the last five years. This review will begin with renewals effective February 1, 2017.
We know you want to make sure policyholders have adequate coverage, and in order to do this, TFPA will be reviewing policies’ coverage amounts.
Prior to the expiration of a current policy term, you will receive a letter notifying you of any required change in the coverage limit. This letter will provide you with the new coverage limit for the upcoming renewal and a copy of an updated Marshall & Swift/Boeckh Replacement Cost Estimate.
You will have an opportunity to review and modify the replacement cost estimate. If you decide to make changes to the renewal coverage amount, you will need to submit a new replacement cost estimate and a cover letter requesting a change in coverage limits to TFPAPolicy@twia.org.
If you have any questions related to this process, please contact the Underwriting Department at 1-800-979-6440.
