CAT Plan Activated, Policy Moratorium Possible

We have activated our Catastrophe Incident Response (CAT) Plan in response to Tropical Storm Nicholas. This will help us respond to our policyholders and other stakeholders as quickly and effectively as possible if this storm causes severe damage in our coverage area.

TFPA is still writing coverage. However, it is possible that a policy moratorium will go into effect in the near future. During a moratorium, TFPA is unable to issue any new policies or increase coverage on existing policies/renewals for properties located in impacted counties.

TFPA must receive both the application and the payment before we can issue a policy.

  • Applications: All applications must be submitted by the agent through the TFPA Agent Portal (i.e. Agent Gateway).
  • Payments: The best way to ensure TFPA receives payment before a moratorium goes into effect is for the policyholder to submit a payment through our e-payments system at www.texasfairplan.org/epayments.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Agent Services at agentservices@twia.org or (800) 979-6440.
